Introduction
The borough of Madison Police Department and Fire Department are active 24/7 patrolling Madison and answering emergency calls. These departments are dedicated to improving quality of life by preserving the peace and safety of the community as it continues to grow and flourish.

Both the Madison Police and Fire Station are important because the service they provide is essential to the community. They provide quick responses to protect and serve the community. The map shows the area that these departments cover as well as other local departments that can aid in the response of these agencies.
Results
According to Madison, NJ census in 2021 Madison’s population was 16,819. Madison Police department is staffed any given day with 28 Officers and Madison Fire Station is staffed with 14 career Firefighters and 13 volunteers. That is approximately 1 officer for every 600 people in Madison. Madison is not a high crime rate area but note the number of officers present any given day in Madison responding to emergencies as well as a mix of career and volunteer firefighters.
Conclusion
Madison is a relatively dense area with a limited number of available Police and Fire assistance. It is important to raise awareness and support for these departments. Support for these departments allows them to increase spending on necessities as well as better equipment to respond to and assist members of the community. Madison Police are especially active in the community hosting a number of events and programs to benefit the community. Some of these events include just getting to know the officers, educating the community, or just helping.

Madison Police Department was established in 1890 and Madison Fire Department was established in 1881. Both were established to help improve the safety and quality of the community. The Madison community as significantly grown in population since the establishment of these departments leaving a large population for these departments to patrol and keep safe.
