The data is collected by national surveys and was administered by The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). To go further, they use the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS). There was quantitative data/numerical data listed on the map. Attributes included regions and risk factors. Data includes stroke prevalence in Madison and New Jersey. 


In Morris County, the estimated prevalence of strokes among adults aged 18-64 years (%) was 2.6% with 95% CI), and the age-adjusted prevalence (%) was 2.2 in 2022. According to the Census 2022 county population estimates, 407,308 adults aged >=18 years live in Morris. 


In Madison Borough, where Drew University is located,  the estimated prevalence of strokes among adults aged 18-64 years (%) was 1.6  in 2022.
By collecting data and analyzing which areas are more prevalent, we can better understand and use resources to hopefully prevent strokes. It is important to pay attention to warning signs like poor diet, diabetes, etc.

The Madison Borough Health Department will continue to promote awareness and collect data on stroke prevalence. This will lead to significantly reducing stroke rates and helping the people of Madison and the state of New Jersey.
