Transportation within Madison Township has been vital since its inception. It provides connections to other towns and cities, but it is important to map it to measure the developmental and environmental effect on local land. Madison station is part of New Jersey Transit Morristown Line, a part of the Morris and Essex Lines. There are two ticket vending machines under the platforms. There are three parking lots, all on Kings Road and Prospect Street. Two lots serve daily parking and all three have permit-only parking. Bicycle racks and lockers are also available. A single NJ Transit bus connection at Madison station, the 873, which runs six days a week.
